Bridges (Completed 2006)

Bridge Railings Bridge Railings Bridge Railings

Three bridges cross the Wetland and Stream Gardens. The decking is made of ipe lumber, a Brazilian ironwood. The handrails were designed by Bob Brosher, retired architect, with fabrication by Lawrence Fredriksen, Mike Connor and Paul Larson (all Clear Lake residents). The artistic expressin in the design includes a reed motif on the lower bridge and an ornamental grass or wheat-look Frank Lloyd Wright influenced motif for the second bridge. The upper bridge displays an interpretation of water (or flowers).

The three bridges were sponsored in part by three North Iowa Rotary Clubs: Mason City Noon Club, Mason City Sunrise Club and the Clear Lake Rotary Club. Their gift of bridges symbolizes the "bridge" to regional cooperation.
