Events
Central Gardens hosts a variety of events each year. Enjoy an evening of music and
entertainment at GardenFest's Garden Gala. Take a peak at spectacular Clear
Lake and North Iowa backyards during the annual Tour of Gardens.
The Bulbs to Blossoms perennial plant and bulb sales offer a great way to
build your garden. And educational opportunities abound with the Lecture Series'
fun, hands-on classes held each season.

8:00a.m. to 9:00 a.m. - Members Only Early Bird Sale
9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. - Public Bulb and Plant Sale
Choose from a wide variety of North Iowa perennials: iris, lilies, cornflowers,
sedum, daisies, hostas, asters, peonies, and more. Many of the specialty plants
have been divided from Central Gardens itself! Select hardy bulbs, ranging from
‘old favorites’ to the exotic.
Special Activities:
- “Ask the Expert” - 5 Master Gardeners will be present to answer your gardening questions!
- Free Refreshments!
- Kids’ Activity!
Donated Plant Drop-Off: Thursday, May 29th, 5-7 p.m. or Friday, May 30th,
5-7 p.m. at the Central Gardens Activity Lawn. Please bring plants potted and labeled
with plant name, color and sun or shade preference.
Free Membership: Donate six or more quart-sized or larger plants and receive
a free membership (first time members only.)

8th Annual Home & Garden Tour - "Petals & Patches"
Saturday June 28th, 2008
10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.
Tour charming Clear Lake Homes and Gardens. View a variety of homes and gardens
from small homes with gardens tucked behind them, to a large 1918 Victorian Bed
& Breakfast with lovely oak woodwork, built-in window seats and bookcases, the original
lighting sconces and two sun porches. Homemade floral themed quilts will also be
on display at each site.
A wooden totem pole, created by a Native American carver, a brightly colored bird-bath
sculpture, and a three-level waterfall trickling into double ponds are just a few
of the charming highlights of the tour you won't want to miss.
Tickets: $8.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door.
